Color Hunt

Support

Everything here is also in the app, under How it works.

Everyone else's grid is blurred. Is that broken?

No — that is the game. Every hunter's photos stay frosted to the rest of the group until the host starts the reveal. You can see how far along people are and guess what they have found, but not the photographs. Your own squares are never blurred to you, so if yours look clear and everyone else's do not, it is working correctly.

How do I delete a hunt?

Open the hunt, tap ⋯ in the top right, then Delete hunt. Only the host can, and you will be asked to type the hunt's name first, because it removes the hunt and every photo in it for everybody. There is no undo.

How do I leave a hunt?

Same screen, Leave hunt. Before the reveal your grid goes with you and you can rejoin with the code. Afterwards your grid stays in the results, because other people's votes refer to it. If you are the host, the hunt passes to whoever joined first rather than getting stranded — and if you were the last one there, it is deleted.

Nothing happens when I add a photo

Photos go into your roll first, which only you can see. Tap an empty square in your grid to place one — only the nine you place are shown to the group. If the connection is poor the app keeps the photo on your phone and uploads it when the signal comes back; you will see a note saying so.

The export numbers look backwards

They are meant to. Instagram shows your newest post first, so a grid only assembles the right way up if you post bottom-right to top-left. Post the file marked 1 first and finish with 9, and it comes out correct.

Somebody is holding up the reveal

Open their grid and tap Poke. Once every six hours, per grid. The host can also start the reveal without waiting — unfinished grids show their empty squares as solid colour.

Reporting a photo or a hunter

Open the square and tap ⋯ in the top left, then Report this photo. To report a person instead, open ⋯ → Hunt settings, find them under Members and tap the ⋯ beside their name. Pick a reason, add anything useful, and send. Nobody in the hunt is told you sent it.

Reports are read within 24 hours. Anything breaking the rules below is removed, and the account behind it can be removed with it. You do not have to wait for that: leaving the hunt takes effect immediately and hunts are invite-only, so it ends there. If you are the host you can remove the person yourself, or delete the hunt and every photo in it.

What isn't allowed

Color Hunt is for photographs of things you found in a colour. Not permitted: nudity or sexual content, violence or gore, hateful or harassing material, anything sexualising a minor, and anything illegal. There is no tolerance for this and no appeal queue — accounts posting it lose access.

Urgent or serious reports can go straight to netbooee@gmail.com.

Something else

Write to netbooee@gmail.com and describe what happened. If it is a bug, the hunt's join code helps. One person reads these, so give it a day or two.
